Barbara Goodman-Fischtrom, LICSW,LMFT,LADC
Welcome to my website. I'm a licensed clinical social worker, licensed marriage and family therapist, and licensed alcohol and drug counselor. With over 35 years experience, I have evolved a practice which concentrates on providing the tools for clients to find the ways to challenge the negative beliefs and thought patterns which get in the way of enjoying a healthy, balanced, life. It is important to find a therapist who you can feel comfortable working with, so you may want to call me for a free consultation. My number is 952 288 5335. Leave a message, and I will contact you. We can go from there. If you wish to contact me though email, I will respond within 24 hours. My email address is [email protected].
I have extensive experience working with adolescents, couples, and individuals with a variety of concerns, including addictions, OCD, anxiety, depression, grief or loss issues, parenting, or other psychological problems, which may include traumatic experience (PTSD). I find it usually helpful to employ a Holistic approach, working with the mind/body connection, often involving mindfulness techniques. My approach, also, is client-centered: it's not just your diagnosis, it's who you are. I'm flexible, and open. You are a unique person and have a unique situation.
These are some of the questions that may be addressed in therapy.
